Mexican National nightlife employers report corrupt practices
Over the next few days the employers will present before the Legislative Assembly an initiative to make the Verification Management Institute (InveaDF) the only institution with jurisdiction to close down establishments.
Currently the InveaDF has the authority to close down any business that uses the place to develop a different activity from what the establishment was registered, but they cannot deliver opinions on matters of licenses or civil protection programmes.
Ismael Rivera Cruces, president of ANIDICE, said that he seeks to avoid what happened in Tlalpan, where the head of delegation, Maricela Contreras, desired to close down 15 “dumps”, even though their documentations are in full legal order.
The FDG supports them
The Secretary of the Federal District Government, Héctor Serrano, met with the Representative of the Anicide to prevent a “witch hunt” and close nightlife places without any apparent reason.
The capital’s official indicated that the operating systems shall be only authorized by his department to avoid this kind of situations. Furthermore, he ensured that they will only investigate illegal places and not the established businesses.
Condesa and Roma are targets
The nightlife industry employers said that after giving support to the capital’s Government to regain the “Zona Rosa” they will work to regularize the colonies of Condesa and Roma, where the great majority of illegal businesses are placed.
Within 15 days the Committee for Risk Assessment will be created, which shall control the issuance of licenses for bars, leisure and performance places, with the aim to reduce the number of illegal establishments in the city.
