The International Nightlife Association (INA) is pleased to announce that the Night Time Industries Association Australia (NTIA AU) has joined the INA. This alliance comes 2 months after the incorporation of the Night Time Industries Associations UK to the INA with the association having presence in 6 continents and 28 countries.
This announcement was made by the CEO of NTIA AU, Michael Gibb who stated, “The Night Time Industries Association is delighted to join the INA and the global movement pushing for a strong, vibrant and growing night time economy.”
“There is a considerable global push towards activated night time economies. The NTIA looks forward to contributing to this agenda, highlighting the accomplishments of the Australian market and learning from our peers around the world.”
NTIA Australia represents the holistic night time economy, encompassing hospitality, arts and culture, live performance venues and suppliers to the night time economy
The night time economy has gained considerable traction in Australia over recent years. In New South Wales in 2021, a 24 Hour Economy Commissioner was appointed to oversee the development of the night time economy. In 2023, NSW welcomed the Hon. John Graham as the first Minister for the Night Time Economy and Music. Since this progress, other states have begun moving forward with agendas to develop their night time economies.
The Government support is underpinned by a sector composed of more than 131,000 core night time economy establishments which employ more than 1 million people
For his part, Michael Kill, Vice President of the INA and CEO of the Night Time Industries Association UK (NTIA UK) has stated, “I am thrilled to highlight the importance of global unity within our sector. The addition of NTIA Australia marks a significant step forward in achieving comprehensive global representation for nightlife. Joaquim Boadas de Quintana, Secretary General of the International Nightlife Association has been delighted with this new incorporation to the International Association. NTIA Australia's incorportaion to the INA allows NTIA members to apply for international distinctions such as the Triple Excellence in Nightlife. This prestigious distinction endorsed by the INA is awarded to venues that excel in four key areas: safety, quality, service, and sustainability. It ensures that the venue meets the highest standards in these categories, providing a top-tier nightlife experience for patrons.

As a matter of fact, an Australian venue, Carousel Sidney, is currently in the process of obtaining the Triple Excellence distinction. This venue is a Gold Member of the INA.
What’s more, five clubs from Australia will compete for a spot on the list of The World’s 100 Best Clubs 2024. The list will be released on November 20th during the 9th edition of the Golden Moon Awards Gala. The Australian nominated clubs are Bloom from Geelong, Loop Roof Bar and Subclub from Melbourne, and Home and Carousel from Sydney.
